It's never ok, i know what it's like to get made fun of, and no one should experience that.
I hope no one is making fun of women with perfect bodies. We need to stand against this behavior.
Why is this even a question? All of the above. There is, NEVER a valid reason. People are ppeople. You know that.

There is a big difference between laughing with and laughing at, and if you're laughing at at the other person/groups expense that'll never be okay, no matter how people try to justify it.

I have not seen anyone doing this in my area. I am sure it takes place, but I do not see it happening.
I know that nice people have different points of view on many issues of interest. I see more push back on people who express a concern as to some controversial issues and are called names for not going along with the crowd.'
I have seen more caustic type of comments of both sides of issues. Some words sound very harsh.

I'm not gay I'm straight. I am not normal because I have a conscience. I consciously thought that beating the daylight out of those who made me look like a creep would make me attractive for reasons I didn't want to be. So I didn't. I simply let girls I liked float around to figure out what was good and bad for them. I knew the conscious ladies would stay virgins and give me some consideration. It didn't happen. I was never able to find them outside of class.

We all have our opinions and make observations but when your intent is to hurt someone with them is when it becomes a bad thing, even if it's socially acceptable. Taking cheap shots at celebrities is easy, especially since they will most likely never hear what we say and probably don't care anyway. Not caring what other people think has always been a good policy in my book. If you don't take heed in what people say you can't be bothered by it. I have a sheet a mile long of things people could make fun of me for but in the end I like me for who I am and that's stronger than any words someone could spit at me.
I just like making jokes. Last night at work, a coworker who was hispanic and pregnant made fun of me. And I replied with "Well...well... You're pregnant."
It isn't okay. I may not agree with certain people or lifestyles but I try hard not to poke fun at them.

I don't think it's right to attack personal choices or judge by what you see. You never know what goes on behind the curtain after the show! I'm still a big Lindsay Lohan fan & that surprises a lot of people. She has issues & behavioral problems, I never once disputed that. But look at her "parents"!! It's obvious she didn't have good role models or much guidance. Children follow by example or find solace elsewhere. People judge her & drop her on a curb but Charlie sheen & Robert Downey jr got infinite chances? Double standard! Granted RDJ hasn't taken his turnaround lightly but statistics show that it takes more than a few times for rehab & other programs to work.

I don't see why it even matters. People have been made fun of for a long time. No amount of saying it's wrong is going to change it. Best is just to teach people how to not let it hurt them. It's a survival of the fittest kind of world out there.
I only make fun of people to their face, and in such a way that I sound like I'm saying something deep to them, but really just tearing down their entire existence. The people around me get it, and laugh. The people I'm directing it towards, usually have no clue. If they did have a clue, any clue at all, I wouldn't be making fun of them.
